Terms of Service
The rules and conditions that apply when you create an account or use MyTurn.
1. Agreement and eligibility
By creating an account, you enter into a binding agreement with Mehmet Emir Özdiş, an individual independent developer operating MyTurn from İzmir, Türkiye, and confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy. You must have legal capacity to agree. You must be at least 16 years old, and if the law where you live requires a higher minimum age or valid parent or guardian authorization, you must satisfy that requirement. Do not create an account if you do not agree.
2. The service and your account
MyTurn lets people create or join private groups, record and share videos, photos and other posts, and interact through comments, reactions, views and notifications. You must provide accurate information, keep your login credentials confidential, and promptly notify us of unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity performed through your account. We may change, suspend or discontinue features when reasonably necessary and will provide notice when required by law.
3. Your content and permissions
You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant MyTurn a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, transcode, adapt, display and transmit that content only as needed to operate, secure, improve and provide the service to you and the people with whom you choose to share it. You confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed for your content, including permission from people shown or heard in it. The license ends when the content is deleted, except for reasonable backup, legal-compliance and security retention periods and copies already shared with other users where deletion is not technically possible.
4. Acceptable use
You may not use MyTurn to break the law; infringe privacy, publicity, copyright or other rights; impersonate others; harass, threaten, exploit or discriminate; distribute sexual content involving minors; upload malware; scrape or reverse engineer the service except where law permits; evade access controls; spam; or interfere with service integrity. We may remove content, restrict features, suspend accounts or terminate access for violations. Where appropriate, you may contact support to appeal a decision.
5. Data we collect
We collect account data such as name, email address, password hash, profile image, handle, biography and location text; user content such as videos, photos, audio within videos, captions and comments; social and group data such as memberships, invitations, friendships, reactions and views; usage and diagnostic data such as feature interactions, app events, crash reports, device type, operating system, app version, IP address, timestamps and identifiers; notification tokens; subscription and entitlement status from payment providers; and support communications. Camera, photo library, microphone, location and notification data are accessed only after device permission and when needed for the feature you request. When you open the camera, location access may be used on-device to derive an editable city/country label; precise coordinates are not included with the post. We do not receive your full payment-card number from app-store payment providers.
6. How we use data and legal bases
We use data to create and authenticate accounts; provide groups, media sharing, feeds, archives and notifications; process subscriptions; personalize and improve features; monitor reliability and performance; prevent fraud, abuse and security incidents; provide support; enforce these terms; comply with law; and send service-related communications. Depending on your location, our legal bases are performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and securing MyTurn, compliance with legal obligations, and consent where the law requires it. You may withdraw consent for consent-based processing without affecting earlier lawful processing.
7. Storage, sharing and international transfers
Account records are stored in managed databases, and media is stored in cloud object storage and may be transcoded by service providers. Data is protected in transit using encryption and access-controlled in storage, but no system can guarantee absolute security. We share data with other users according to your group and sharing choices; with infrastructure, hosting, storage, transcoding, email, authentication, notification, analytics, crash-reporting, customer-support and payment providers acting for us; when required by law or necessary to protect rights and safety; and as part of a merger, financing, acquisition or asset transfer subject to appropriate safeguards. Providers receive only data reasonably needed for their services. Data may be processed in countries other than yours; where required, we use recognized transfer safeguards such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
8. Retention and deletion
Account, profile, group, social and entitlement records are retained while the account is active. Eligible completed media moves from hot to archive storage after about 48 hours, its highest-resolution archived stream is pruned after about 30 days, and the clip and associated response records and managed media are scheduled for deletion after about 180 days. Upload sessions expire after two hours; cleanup runs every 30 minutes and removes finalized upload-session records or reconciles uploads that remain unfinished for more than one hour. Email-verification, password-reset and web deletion codes expire after one hour. MyTurn database warning incidents expire after 30 days by default and error or fatal incidents after 90 days by default, subject to the configured 1–365 day operational range. Account deletion through the app or https://myturn.emirozdis.tr/account attempts immediate removal from active systems and managed storage. Provider-controlled backups, caches, logs and independent store records may remain until their configured expiry or overwrite, or longer where law, fraud prevention, security, accounting or dispute obligations require. Deleting MyTurn does not cancel an Apple or Google subscription.
9. Your privacy rights
Subject to local law, you may request access to, correction of, deletion of, portability of, or restriction or objection to processing of your personal data. You may withdraw consent, opt out of non-essential communications, disable permissions in device settings, and lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. Because MyTurn does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, there is no sale or sharing to opt out of. 10. Children
MyTurn is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from a child who cannot lawfully use the service or provide required authorization. If you believe that has happened, contact support@myturn.emirozdis.tr so we can investigate and delete it. Parents and guardians may exercise applicable rights on a child's behalf where local law permits.
11. Intellectual property and reports
The MyTurn software, branding and service design are owned by Mehmet Emir Özdiş or the applicable licensors. These terms do not transfer those rights to you. If you believe content infringes your copyright or other rights, send a detailed notice identifying the work, the challenged material, your contact information, a good-faith statement and any legally required declaration or signature to support@myturn.emirozdis.tr.
12. Subscriptions
Paid features, prices, billing periods, trials, renewal and cancellation terms are shown before purchase and are also governed by the applicable app store. Subscriptions may renew automatically unless canceled through the relevant store before renewal. Except where law or store rules require otherwise, charges are non-refundable. Statutory cancellation and refund rights remain unaffected.
13. Disclaimers and liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MyTurn is provided on an 'as is' and 'as available' basis without implied warranties, and we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation or permanent availability of user content. To the maximum extent permitted by law, MyTurn and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages or loss of profits, data or goodwill. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
14. Termination, governing law and disputes
You may stop using MyTurn and request deletion at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for a material breach, security risk, legal requirement or discontinuation of the service, with notice and an opportunity to remedy when reasonably possible. These Terms are governed by the laws of Türkiye. Courts and enforcement offices with mandatory jurisdiction under Turkish law remain competent, and any mandatory consumer protections or local jurisdiction rights that apply where you live remain unaffected. Before filing a claim, please contact support@myturn.emirozdis.tr so we can try to resolve the issue informally. Nothing here limits a right to seek relief from a regulator, consumer authority or court where that right cannot be waived.
15. Changes and contact
We may update this agreement to reflect legal, security or product changes. If a change is material, we will provide legally required notice and request renewed acceptance when appropriate.
